This is the courtyard of the Aitre Saint Maclou, an historic building from the 14th century which is now the Fine Art college of Rouen. The site used to be a cemetery, when the plague came over the city, the galleries were built in the purpose of bone storage.
Sur l'ensemble des poutres du bâtiment sont sculptés des motifs macabres.
On the beams of the building are carved grim figures such as shovels, crossed bones and skulls.
